Race 11/12 – Snowpeach

The riders of MotoSL series were again assaulted by the elements today in conditions only slightly improved from last week. The scientists say it’s global warming due to over-population, the government says we need more people to tax. I’m not sure that we can look forward to better conditions for the final round next week. We may have to tough it out and then enjoy our weeks off and hope for salvation before we start up Series 3. We’ve seen the world change and grow, and the effects it’s had have near crippled us at times, while giving us flawless performance at others. We aim for the flawless and hope for the best!

Nineteen riders came out for qualifying today. Motorato Ware of OMG Magazine set a fast early time of 21.285 for the front spot, until Hollie Wood of House of Kats set a fast lap of 21.229 for pole. Kalel Mommsen of RefleX Racing was back for today’s race and made a strong play for pole, netting gate two with a time of 21.242. Silk Bamboo of the Red Wings was the only other rider to get into 21s, for gate four. Thorn Blackflag of the Red Wings took 5th spot, getting both ‘Wings in the top 5. Raver Bellow of RD Racing secured 6th-best qualifying.

Kalel got off to a good start, leading the pack around for the first 2 laps. Motorato worked her way to the front on lap 3 and made it stick for the race, eventually lapping the field. Silk and Kalel battled for second for most of the race until a slip left Kalel behind to finish 3rd overall. Hollie ran home a damaged bike to take 4th. Raver brought his bike home 5th with cord showing through the tire surface. Thorn’s fight for the lead ended early when his inline 4 was left running on only a single cylinder. Thorn still managed 6th overall, earning some solid points for himself and his Red Wings team.

Sally Forwzy ran her first race today with great success, taking the win in the middle race for 7th overall on the day. Maczter Oddfellow of RefleX Racing held off the pack for second place and 8th overall. Mistina Vavoom of OMG racing was back and in good form in harsh conditions for 3rd and 9th overall. Bike Racer finished in 12th today, his worst placing of the season and only the second time he’s been outside the front six. This was still sufficient to nail down his 3rd place in the championship with one race yet to run, but also gave Silk the lock on second for the season.

Yamaha Harley was in fine form to take victory in the 3rd group today. Dragonlord Wesburn, another promising new comer, right behind for second.
